Previous iMac models came standard with the Intel Core 2 Duo CPU and Nvidia integrated graphics card. Those components have been exchanged for a newer dual-core Intel Core i3 processor and ATI discrete graphics card. There is also the option to choose the Intel Core i5 processor for the new iMac at configuration.

Performance

The great thing about this new is that it performs similar to a quad-core processor, which means it can process four streams of data at once. The new iMac comes standard with 4GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive, and has built in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities. It will also come standard with SuperDrive capable of burning both DVD’s and CD’s.
